Section 3 Resources

Textbook
Homework is largely tied to Openstax Calculus I. Each lesson will also provide a link to the same contents in the following two books.
Homework will be through ALEKS or posted in Blackboard. ALEKS will provide feedback to guide you through calculation topics.
Online
All due dates, assignments, and other class materials will be posted on Blackboard.
Technology
You will need access to a device with reasonable internet to complete the lessons for class and view supplemental materials. Larger screens are better for viewing it. Multiple lessons have interactive examples that will not work well on small screens.
Tools that can do the work for you (e.g., PhotoMath, Wolfram Alpha, generative AI) are not permitted for completing any assignment in this class. This course prioritizes developing your mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills which will not grow if technology bypasses your thinking.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, software, and online platforms can be valuable resources for learning and exploring mathematical concepts, but do not replace thinking through mathematical concepts yourself. AI Tools can enhance learning by assisting you in understanding difficult concepts, generating practice problems or examples for additional study, or providing insights into complex processes. To obtain these benefits you will need to craft your AI prompt carefully. Also as of the beginning of the semester, AI tools still generate incorrect mathematics fairly regularly; check all results carefully.
