Abstract

Our research question is “How can the People Mover increase ridership among jobholders?”. In
partnership with Anchorage’s People Mover public bus system, we aim to survey Anchorage jobholders to determine which service changes would increase ridership on the People Mover. Specifically, we seek to
identify workers who do not currently ride the bus and survey them about service changes (e.g., longer service hours, lower fares) that would make them more likely to use the People Mover. We will recruit subjects in the field, from their places of employment (with permission from employers) and seek additional recruiting sources such as community councils.
