Abstract

The student research is in support of efforts by the Food Bank of Alaska and Alaska Food Coalition to enhance public schools' ability to provide breakfast for students, low income students in particular. Students examined which Alaskan schools and school districts provide breakfast, barriers to providing breakfast, and innovative programs used around the country to facilitate providing school breakfast. The research was used by the Food Bank and Food Coalition as part of a report released in February, 2008, during the Alaska legislative session.
