Abstract

Currently Law Enforcement Officer productivity is tracked on the basis of number of arrests and citations issued. While this is an indicator it fails to give credit for things like problem solving, counseling of people in traumatic events, etc. I designed a program for tracking police officer efficiency that was designed to give credit for all of the duties that an officer performs. The project aims to evaluate, from an officer's perspective, the proposed activity tracking method. I tested the subjects who have been using the activity tracking method at the Anchorage Police Department for their sense of fairness in approach, efficiency of the ystem, and usefulness of the system. This test was given in the form of a short written survey.
