The ACM Association for Computing Machinery Club is being reborn! Jeff Miller, faculty member in computer systems engineering, is the faculty advisor.
The kickoff meeting is Tuesday, November 4, 11:30am-12:30pm, in ENGR 110.
Membership is open to all students. The ACM club is the only student organization concerned with all aspects of computers, hardware and software.
Highlights: Discuss what ACM is and what we will do for the next year
Nominate officers
Meet fellow students interested in computers
Enjoy free Moose's Tooth Pizza and soda
There has been some interest from the CSE program to revive the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) CS Club. This would give us some benefits like access to distinguished lecturers, programming contests, etc. The idea was also suggested of merging the CS Club with CSE to perhaps form a new club under the auspices of the ACM.
Please post your comments and if there is interest we should probably convene a meeting to discuss.

Some of dedicated computer science major has decided to offer free tutoring. It will held on CS computer labs. It is part of the CS club activities, so they MAY enforce to sign in before you use free tutoring. Attached file has details.
I requested Computer Science faculties to announce about CS club in computer science classes. Hope, that will bring more traffic in club site and more participation on club activities.
Sunil
any special wishes for a new club meeting date? I would recommend that we start the new semester with a meeting in the first couple of weeks, so that we can get things accomplished this semester.
Julian
Hi,
Just wanted to check if there is any interest in another meeting anytime next week.
And if there is please post what times would be the best for you.
Thanks,
Julian
The next meeting will be held on Friday April 13th.
The topics that will be discussed during this meeting, will be:
1) Choosing a project that the CS Club will be developing (so far the choices are: a game or cell phone application)
2) Electing the treasury for the CS Club
3) Outlining the chosen project and developing a concept
4) Other stuff
There will be pizza at this meeting.
If any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Julian
Do we want to meet on Friday March 30th again, to get things going?
Sunil was thinking of canceling a meeting this Friday, since not many people have expressed interest. I could make a 4:00 meeting though, although I tend to agree that not many people will come with Spring Break coming up.
If anyone wants to have a small meeting Friday afternoon let me know and we can go ahead and see who shows.
Kenrick
When should the next meeting of the CS Club be held?
What activities would you like to do? At the last meeting we discussed the possibility of developing a graphical game.
