As a result of ACMs previous meeting, where the USAFs bomb disposal squad ran a demonstration of its robotic units on campus, we have been given the opportunity to take a tour of EODs on-base facility. There we will be doing much of what was done at the last meeting and MORE.
Would you like to get hands on with $200,000 dollar robotic equipment? Would you like to see a bulldozer sized bot that can be controlled from a distance of 2 miles? Would you like to view all the nifty gadgets that the military uses in today's world to counter explosive threats? Then join us for a tour on Elmendorf AFB, and do exactly these things.
A date has not been set, but approval has been granted. Now we just need interest to solidify the event, so get interested! Join us at http://acm.forumup.org/ . See pictures of our last meeting (under the forum News and Announcements), get up to date with new technologies, and stay up to date with the latest developments coming from the Association of Computing Machinery.
See you there!
