CS Club announcement in CS Classes

I requested Computer Science faculties to announce about CS club in computer science classes. Hope, that will bring more traffic in club site and more participation on club activities.

Internship opportinity with DNR

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is interested in an intern to fill a position with the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Unit and work on a new reporting system.

The intern must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits to qualify, and preferably have completed a class in Java.

Free Microsoft Developer Conference

Microsoft is hosting a free developer conference in Anchorage on Thursday, September 13, 2007. This may be a good opportunity if you're interested in learning more about Microsoft technologies such as the upcoming Visual Studio, .NET, and Silverlight for Javascript/Web apps.

New semester starts soon..

any special wishes for a new club meeting date? I would recommend that we start the new semester with a meeting in the first couple of weeks, so that we can get things accomplished this semester.

Interesting stuff found in MAKE

In the latest issue of MAKE, one of the articles talked of the project going on at reprap.org Their idea is to make a replicator, a 3-D printer, a fabricator, which is cheap and easy enough to put together, that it can create its own parts. So far, it can create most of them. It looks realy interesting. Just though you guys would like to know.
