For years I put up with the built-in microphone on my tc1100 for recording lectures when using Camtasia Studio. The problem with the built-in microphone is its weak strength; the volume for recorded audio is extremely low and requires amplification to be heard adequately in a video. This arrangement finally became untenable when I replaced my 4200 rpm hard drive with a much noisier 7200 rpm hard drive, resulting in annoying clicks in the audio.

Recording Lectures with a Tablet

One of my interests is finding ways for educators to use Tablet PC's.

In place of the traditional blackboard or whiteboard I've been using
a HP TC1100 tablet PC connected to a video projector with inking through Microsoft OneNote. In the past I've switched back and forth between Agilex GoBinder and OneNote, and right now I give the slight nod toward the 2007 version of OneNote.

Upgraded tc1100 to vista

I installed Vista on my tc1100 last week and as reported elsewhere in the blog-o-world, it's relatively smooth. I ran the Vista upgrade advisor and it told me to free up disk space and get new wireless drivers. By downloading the most recent WLAN drivers from HP's support site, I was able to get wireless working on the initial install.
