Small example of mobile computing in academia05/18/2007 - 11:30 Etc/GMT I was at a lunch meeting the other day with another professor and a former student that we are hiring to do some software development for a research project. The conversation was going something like: "What used to be one set of data is now split up into 7 sets, one for each size class. There's also a field for max percent and coefficients for a quadratic formula to describe..." At this point I took out my OQO 02 and actually showed our prototype with these data fields to our programmer so he could actually see what we were talking about, instead of trying to explain it without visual references. Sure, I could have brought a notebook computer to do the same thing, but I wouldn't normally bring a notebook to a lunch meeting. However, with the OQO I'm able to bring it everywhere and use it when the need arises. |

Of course OQO is very useful
Of course OQO is very useful in various situations. It perfectly fits in your pocket and you can use it when you need it most. But I would prefer iPhone in such situations. It is quite similar to OQO in such situations, the only difference is the size of the screen. Thanks for the great post though!
Sincerely,
Brandon Lungdon from mobile application development
