IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING GRADING:  The syllabus shows a total of 10 assignments for the class.  There will be a total of 12 assignments for the class, each worth 15 points.  This means that grades will be based on 180 points for assignments plus 300 points for tests, or a total of 480 points.  The grade cutoffs remain the same:  90, 80, 70, 60.  These cutoffs may be lowered, but they will not be raised.  When calculating the minimum grade you will receive for a given number of points accumulated, divide your total by 480, NOT 450 as shown in the syllabus.

There was a typographical error in the syllabus as originally posted and handed out in class.  The date for the final was given as Tuesday, December 19th at 7:00 p.m.  The correct date is Tuesday, December 9th at 4:00 p.m.  The posted syllabus has been fixed.  Please check to make sure you have not made plans based on the incorrect date.
